THE CONTENT STRUCTURE AND FORMS OF A.P. CHEKHOV’S “ROTHSCHILD’S VIOLIN”In this article, A.P. Chekhov’s short story “Rothschild’s Violin” is examined for the first time through the lens of an original concept for a comprehensive study of the four-level system of content and form in an epic text. The proposed methodology is based on the principle of isomorphism and reveals the text through four stages of analysis: the title, the upper boundary of the chronotope of the present, the denouement, and the semantic parts. Thus, the text appears as a system consisting of three components – “beginning,” “middle,” and “end.” An attempt is made to study the system of content and form in the short epic, paying particular attention to the categories of genre form, genre diversity, genre, mode of representation, style, and genre features. Whereas in traditional literary studies, one concept is often substituted for another. Specific methods for identifying the characteristics of the aforementioned concepts are proposed
