The article compares the Karakalpak folk epic "Alpamys" (variant Ogyz Zhyrau) and the Uzbek epic "Alpomish" (variant Fazyl Yuldash). In particular, similarities and differences in traditional formulas (artistic repetitions or regular stanzas) and poetic symbols found in the two epics are revealed. Both the Karakalpak version of the epic "Alpamys" Ogyz zhyrau and the Uzbek version Fazyl Yuldash contain many traditional formulas and artistic descriptions found in other epics. In both versions, the storytellers mainly rely on traditional formulas and sing with their own creative talent. Such traditional lines found in epics do not enrich the work in content, but serve as a means of inter-plot connection. Repetition is one of the common stylistic devices in the epics of the Turkic peoples. This tool includes not only the content of the epic, but also the volume. The article analyzes the symbolic meaning of the images of a falcon and a racehorse.
