The study is devoted to the role of Kazakh-Russian bilingualism in the formation of the linguistic identity of schoolchildren in Kazakhstan. Based on a qualitative analysis, including interviews with students and teachers, analysis of educational programs and student texts, the influence of the Kazakh and Russian languages on national and social identity was studied. It was found that the Kazakh language strengthens cultural affiliation, being associated with family traditions and folklore, while the Russian language is perceived as an instrument of social mobility and access to media. Challenges were identified: uneven attention to languages in schools and a lack of interactive methods. Recommendations are proposed for the implementation of gamification, integrated learning and culturally oriented lessons for harmonious bilingual education. The results emphasize the need for a balanced approach to language teaching to support national heritage and global integration of schoolchildren
