The article explores the general threat of unemployment, its root causes, and repercussions. It delves into the influence of unemployment on the nation's economy, encompassing economic security. Furthermore, itprovides an overview of the unemployment trends in Kazakhstan spanning several years and discusses theassociatedthreats.First of all, the state must clearly formulate its new economic strategy. It should become very clear to business what kind of policy the government will pursue in the next 20-30 years and why. So far, there has been no such clarity.Of course, it is necessary to approach this problem seriously. Which sectors of the economy will the state support during this period? For what purpose? How? How long? How will economic policy change in the event of various kinds of external shocks? Therefore, the solution to the problem of high unemployment and poverty must begin with the approval of a new economic strategy.
