Abstract

This article examines some scientific aspects of the study of water problems in Central Asian countries within the framework of social and humanitarian sciences. The authors clarify the main problems of water resources in the countries and in the region. The problems of water resources differ between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as the countries of the upper part of the Syr Darya, Amu Darya and the countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan) of the lower part of these rivers.  The opinion is justified that most of the cases of researchers on this topic are studied mainly privately, and little is studied with an interdisciplinary nature, not to mention research with a complex nature. From the analysis it turns out that the topic is studied in different aspects (geopolitical, geo-economic, international, regional, national, sectoral, etc.). Unfortunately, the water problem of the region will exist as an acute long-term problem with political and economic characteristics. According to our assessment, the process of solving this problem has passed the initial stage from 1991 to 2010, and has passed the adaptation stage until 2020, and the adaptation stage is currently underway. This stage should be completed by 2030 with a good prospect.
