One side of the problem considered in the article is aimed at studying the methodology of studying the problem of student self-development as a set of signs, concepts, laws and knowledge about self-development as a specific area of objective reality and the process of assimilation of this knowledge, and the other- as a process of their formation and practical application. Pedagogy expresses a person's self-development in terms of continuous self-development, the formation of skills for self-development and self-development. Psychological science occupies a special place in the issue of self-development. This approach is not accidental. Self-development, first of all, expresses the theme of self-development, its individuality and inner essence. The problem of the subject and his personality is, first of all, a psychological problem. Individuality, as a set of characteristic personal characteristics and qualities, makes it possible to distinguish one person from another. Students' self-development necessarily includes a pedagogical manual for their self-development. The traditional educational system, which uses standard methods and is usually designed for the average student, does not allow for proper orientation to the individual characteristics of the student.
